WHY IN HOME or TELEHEALTH COUNSELING?
While office based counseling is extremely beneficial for many, for years, we have worked with families facing enormous challenges, stress, and crisis. Through providing in home therapy, we are able to work with you and your child(ren) in an environment they are most comfortable, and also alleviate the need to attend one more out of home appointment.
Many parents have discussed barriers to counseling to including difficulties in packing up children in the car after school, adding one more stop on the way home, driving in bad weather, the cost of gas, and feelings of anxiety. All of these are barriers which can impact and influence families seeking therapy.
Many times, parents and foster parents would describe behaviors they are seeing in their homes which are not apparent in outpatient clinical therapy sessions. By providing flexibility to support families directly in their homes, there is a better opportunity to provide intervention and support where challenging behaviors and breakdowns in communication occur. As a result, children and families are able to begin to restore healthy functioning and heal relationships.
In home clinical assessments can also support education advocacy and educational needs, to ensure Individual Education Plans (IEP) or 504 plan accommodations are created to support all of your child's needs in school.
CONVENIENT:
Individual and family therapy can be scheduled to occur in your home, supporting your privacy and allowing you and your child(ren) to feel comfortable.
Additionally, office based therapy in our Cheshire location provides flexible appointment scheduling including early mornings, daytime, evening and weekend appointments.
